PRIVATIZATION EXPERIENCE

We were instrumental in promoting the better understanding of the Privatization process in Pakistan and building a positive image for the PC, amongst the general public, opinion makers and the relevant stakeholders.  

• Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB): We advised and implemented public relations programme for the National Group before and after the privatization of the bank. It was originally opposed but we managed to win back the media support.
• Gharibwal Cement Limited (GCL): We advised and assisted UK based Mountfield Group in the take over of GCL.
• PTCL: We advised and implemented public relations plan for Khadim Ali Shah Bokhari & Co and Merrill Lynch on the floatation of the first Rs. 3 billion PTCL voucher issue.
• PTCL: We also advised and assisted MCB and BMA on the second floatation of PTCL shares.
• KAPCO: We advised and implemented the PR plan for CS Boston and the PC. CS Boston had selected us. We helped in bringing down media and labour opposition to its privatisation.
• FAEB: Mediator’s was also a part of the IFC Consortium for the privatization of the FAEB. We also closely worked with PC on this project till it was postponed.
• KESC: We were the consultants for UBS consortium to advise and support the communication programme for the privatization of KESC. The privatisation was postponed after six months work.
• Privatization Commission: Mediators was PC’s PR Consulting Company for one year. We provided PC an integrated PR strategy and a communications plan, which was then implemented by us. This helped in changing the positioning of privatisation programme in Pakistan from selling the ‘family silver’ to “Privatisation for the people.”
